Digital Marketer and Visual & UX Designer
Hello! My name is Marissa Harley and I create simple designs for complex users. I’m a recent graduate of the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Global Business and Digital Arts.
I’m a passionate and experienced Digital Marketer, Visual Artist, and UX Designer. In my spare time I enjoy taking photographs, experimenting with illustration & typography, and creating handmade greeting cards. You can view these projects and more on my Instagram account. I also love to write about my everyday adventures and share life experiences, right here, on my blog.
What originally began as a travel blog, has morphed into a digital space for my creative writing. Although I do not claim to be an author or professional blogger, I do enjoy sharing my experiences and opinions while simultaneously developing my composition skills. In essence, this blog is a platform for me to share, with you, the exciting things that are happening in my life!
You’ll find that my posts consist of two distinct themes, which help guide my writing. I will openly admit to going off on tangents (or as I like to call them, ‘literary adventures’) when given zero writing restrictions.
Real Talk segments focus on my passions, both professional and pastime, and share my honest and personal perspectives on the subject(s). Popular themes include social life and everyday lessons, as well as my lifelong involvement with Girl Guides and my adoration for the arts. The career-focused subjects centre mainly around my background in digital marketing, design, and user experience.
Published on a (sometimes) weekly basis, Pause·itivi·tea contains shorter entries and feature my thoughts from the week. It’s a time to pause, with a cup of tea (I love tea), and reflect on the week. Life is hectic and full of distractions, and sometimes it can be hard to find the good when it feels like nothing is right in the world. My goal is to find something positive in every week and share it with my readers. A range of topics are explored and you can be sure to read only positive thoughts in these posts!
A spot of everything creative! I share the results of my adventures in baking, cooking, and handmade projects (cards and gifts). Not everything turns out perfectly the first time, but that’s how you learn. Read MH Creates for ideas, tips, and inspiration from a passionate and natural-born creative.
